Commencement December 2011

Chatham University will graduate its 140th class of undergraduate women and its 18th class of graduate women and men during commencement on Sunday, December 18, at 10 a.m. in the Athletic and Fitness Center on Chatham's Shadyside Campus. S. Murray Rust, III, chair of Chatham's Board of Trustees; President Esther L. Barazzone, Ph.D.; and Laura S. Armesto, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs, will preside over the ceremonies.
During the commencement ceremony, Dr. Marylouise Fennell will be honored with an honorary doctorate in public service. She currently serves as the senior counsel for The Council of Independent Colleges and has been the chief consultant for the Association of Private Universities of Central America. Dr. Fennell, an internationally recognized management consultant in higher education, specializes in independent higher education as a mentor, counselor, search consultant, andconsultant to both higher education organizations and for-profit businesses that serve the non-profit sector.
Commencement exercises will include graduates from each of the University's three colleges: Chatham College for Women (undergraduate), the College for Graduate Studies, and the College for Continuing and Professional Studies.
