About Us

Nursing Honor Society

A message from the President

Kathleen Spadaro

Welcome to the Chatham University Nursing Honor Society (NHS). This society was approved by Chatham University in May 2011 and is now inviting new members twice a year, in the spring and the fall semesters. As President of the NHS, I am excited to offer Chatham's exceptional nursing students the opportunity to become a member of this privileged group.

In February 2011, the NHS board members began working on the conception of this virtual Nursing Honor Society to provide an acknowledgement to Chatham University nursing students who excelled in their academic work. After one year of existence this NHS will apply for chapter status with the larger Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Nursing Honor Society. This status will allow our members to reap the benefits of the international honor society and an increased exchange of knowledge, networking, and support.

This NHS was developed purposefully as a virtual society to allow the Chatham University distance students to participate from the various regions of the United States, in active military deployment, and from other countries. As a virtual society, the members can connect with the organization and its members anywhere they happen to be at the time. This also supports the "sustainability" mission of Chatham University, both on a practical level and on a human connection level.

Please feel free to contact any of our Board members if you have any questions or interest in to become more involved with the society's activities. I look forward to virtually meeting and interacting with you!

Warmly,

Kathleen
