English Language Program
Chatham University offers instruction in English to various levels of ESL students and provides a “bridge” through sheltered college classes to students who are striving to attain a high level of academic English level proficiency.
The department offers different English language courses and levels and tutoring.
- Bridge Program - for undergraduate and graduate students admitted to Chatham not meeting the minimum TOEFL or IELTS requirement
- Graduate Peer Mentor Program - for admitted graduate students needing additional one on one support
- Beginner and Intermediate Level Program - non-credit English language study
- Summer English Program - non- credit English language study
English Language Program Tutoring Center
Students who participate in the Chatham English Language Programs will
- increase fluency in spoken and written English
- interact daily with American students and instructors
- understand conversations, lectures, and classroom discussions
- express themselves clearly in spoken English and in writing
- read and understand English academic texts
- become familiar with the academic and social life of a U.S. college
