Biography
Amy received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Duquesne University in 2005. Upon her final year of graduate school, she was accepted into a 9 month internship as an Army Occupational Therapist. There she received intensive training and exposure to experiences in mental health, polytrauma, physical disabilities, and orthopedics. Since then, she has worked as an occupational therapist in a variety of treatment settings including 6 years as an active duty OT in the U.S. Army, then as into the VA system and private sector. She has also taught as adjunct faculty in Duquesne University's OT program, teaching Occupational Therapy Administration and various intervention courses. Amy has presented at a number of conferences including the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association and The American Occupational Therapy Association. She has been published in Work: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment and Rehabilitation. Outside of work, Amy and her husband stay busy raising their twin daughters and enjoys travelling, spending time with family and reading.
