Undergraduate Scholarships

Chatham University, in an effort to recognize academic excellence, awards scholarships to deserving full-time students. Many of these scholarships are funded by our various endowed scholarships. To qualify for a Chatham Scholarship, students must complete an admissions application, and in some cases interview or audition.

In addition, Chatham offers generous need-based financial aid. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine need-based aid. No other forms are required.

Students may be awarded up to $15,000 per year in scholarships and merit awards.

First Year Scholarships
  Presidential, Trustee and Founders' Scholarships
  Based on academic excellence, students may qualify for the Presidential, Trustee or Founders' Scholarship. The scholarship amount will be determined once the student is admitted to the College.
  Amounts:
Presidential up to $12,000;
Trustee up to $9,000;
Founders' up to $7,000
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher
   
  World Ready Women Scholarships
  Students should attend Chatham's World Ready Women Scholarship Day to qualify. Dates are posted on the Events page.
  Amount Up to $5,000 per year in addition to Presidential, Trustee or Founder's Scholarship.
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher and a full-time enrollment
   
  Eberly Scholarship
  Restricted to undergraduate students from FayetteCounty.Established in 1987 by the Eberly Family Foundation.
  Amount Varies based on need and scholarship
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher and a full-time enrollment
   
  Visual Arts Interior Architecture Scholarship

  Based on completed Interior Architecture/Visual Arts Scholarship Application

For visual arts: Submit portfolio or work on CD (JPEG format), DVD, mini DV, via URL or as a printed image

For interior architecture: Submit portfolio (art or interiors work) or essay on why you want to study interior architecture at Chatham College.

A limited number of scholarships will be awarded before the March 1, scholarship application priority deadline Scholarship applications received after March 1 will be considered only if funds are available.
  Amount $2,000 per year in addition to Presidential, Trustee, or Founder's scholarship.
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher and full time enrollment.
   
  AFS/YFU/Rotary International Scholarship
  Participation in AFS, YFU, or Rotary abroad programs; selection based on a special essay. To apply, please submit letter of interest and essay describing your experiences abroad to your admissions counselor.
  Amount $2,500
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher and a full-time enrollment
   
  Minna Kaufmann Ruud Music Scholarship**
  For qualified vocalists that plan to major in music or incorporate music into an interdepartmental major while a student at Chatham; Participation in Chatham Choir is required.
**Audition Required
  Amount $3,500 + weekly voice lessons with accompaniment
  Renewable Annual re-audition
   
  Girl Scout Gold Scholarship

  Offered to Girl Scout Gold Award Recipients; must provide proof of membership and completed girl scout scholarship application
  Amount $6,000
  Renewable Annually based on a GPA of 2.8 or higher and participation in Chatham’s community service activities and a full-time enrollment.
   
  Girl Scout Leadership Award

  Offered to women who were members of Girl Scouts for a minimum of two years but not Gold Award recipients; must provide proof of membership and completed girls scout scholarship application
  Amount $2,000
  Renewable Annually based on a GPA of 2.8 or higher and participation in Chatham’s community service activities and a full-time enrollment.
   
  Legacy Award
  Awarded to daughters of Chatham Alumni
  Amount $2,000
  Renewable Annually based on 2.0 GPA and a full-time enrollment.
   
  Rachel Carson Book Award
  Nomination by a designated high school official; awarded to high school juniors showing excellence in science and writing with an interest in environmental issues
  Amount $1,000
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.0 or higher and a full-time enrollment.
   
  Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference for Women Scholarship
  Based on academic performance, specific career goals, community service work, resident of PA and demonstrated financial need. Selection based on resume, transcripts and possible interview. Limited number of scholarships available. To apply please submit letter of interest and resume outlining your community service to your admissions counselor.
  Amount $2,500 per year
  Renewable Annually based on minimum 2.8 GPA and full time enrollment
  Deadline February 15

Transfer Scholarships

  Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
  A cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher and membership in PTK
  Amount $2,000
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 3.0 or higher and a full-time enrollment.
   
  Transfer Scholarship
  A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; minimum of 15 credits from transfer institution
  Amount $2,500 - $10,000
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher and a full-time enrollment.

  Chatham International Student Scholarship
  Based on academic performance. The scholarship amount will be automatically determined once the student is admitted to Chatham University. No additional application is needed to apply.
  Amount $6,000 - $14,000
  Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher and a full-time enrollment.
   
  World Ready Women Scholarships
