World Ready Women Scholarship Competition

Chatham University is pleased to announce our 2009/2010 World Ready Women Scholarship Competition! This scholarship recognizes young women who have demonstrated leadership excellence. Scholarships are awarded based upon on past leadership experience, essay, interview and the student’s potential to contribute to the Chatham community. Scholarships are valued up to $5,000 per year. All Chatham scholarships are renewable annually for a total of four years or 120 credits, subject to a 2.8 cumulative GPA at Chatham and full time enrollment. The World Ready Women Scholarship is awarded in addition to other merit scholarships.

Chatham will also host a bus trip to the World Ready Women Scholarship event from New York City, Philadelphia and Harrisburg. Please click here for more information!
Event Details
  • Interview with a faculty member or Chatham alumnae
  • Essay portion of the WRW competition
  • Lunch in Anderson Dining Hall
  • Chatham Abroad presentation
  • Tour of our beautiful, 39 acre Shadyside campus
  • Presentation by the Director of Financial Aid
Guidelines
The following materials must be received prior to the event to participate in the scholarship competition.
  • Chatham University application form
  • Application essay
  • High School transcripts
  • Letter of recommendation
  • SAT/ACT scores or supplemental materials
  • World Ready Women Event RSVP

Transfer students out of high school for two or more years do not need to submit SAT/ACT scores or a high school transcript.

What to bring?
Candidates should bring two copies of a resume to the World Ready Women Scholarship Competition. The resume should include the following:
  • Contact Information
  • Goal statement
  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Honors and Awards
  • Community service
  • Athletics
  • Part time job
What to wear?
Students should dress in professional interview attire – no jeans please. If you are planning to tour the campus, do not forget comfortable shoes.

Scholarship Notification
Students will be notified of their scholarship no later than March 15, 2009. Upon acceptance to Chatham University, every World Ready Women Scholarship participant will receive a scholarship for participating in the competition.
World Ready Women Scholarships
Students should attend Chatham's World Ready Women Scholarship Day to qualify. Dates are posted on the Events page.
Amount Up to $5,000 per year in addition to Presidential, Trustee or Founder's Scholarship.
Renewable Annually based on GPA of 2.8 or higher and a full-time enrollment
