Lainie Wintrup Head Coach

Chatham College has named Lainie Wintrup as its new Varsity Women’s Ice Hockey Coach, according to an announcement made by Amy Buxbaum, Chatham’s Athletic Director. Wintrup will be responsible for running the ice hockey team for the 2005/2006 season.
“We are very happy that Lainie has joined the Chatham athletics department,” said Buxbaum. “With the coaching experience she brings to the College, our hockey team can continue to grow into an elite program within NCAA Division III.”
Wintrup has been coaching organized hockey since 1992. Prior to joining Chatham, she was the assistant hockey coach at the University of Maine and a guest coach for the German National Women’s Hockey Team at the 2001 World Cup team selection camp in Bavaria, Germany. She received bachelor’s degrees from the University of Winnipeg in physical activity and sports studies, and sociology and earned her master’s of science in physical education from the University of Manitoba. Additionally, she earned a high performance coaching diploma from the National Coaching Institute in Manitoba.
