Visiting Team Information
Dear Visiting Athletic Trainers:
The Chatham University Athletic Trainers would like to welcome you to our campus for your upcoming athletic contest. Our athletic training room is located on the bottom floor of the Athletics and Fitness Center, at the end of the hall, past the squash courts. Please feel free to stop in should you need our services.
The athletic training room will be open approximately 2 hours prior to game time. You may use our facility for taping and injury treatment. It is equipped with the following modalities that may be used on your visit:
- One large whirlpool, kept cold
- One small whirlpool, hot or cold
- Hot packs
- Ice bags
- Ultrasound
- E-stim
If your team is not traveling with a certified athletic trainer, please let us know in advance so we can adequately prepare for any treatments your team may need. If any electrotherapy or ultrasound treatments are needed, please send a note signed by the ATC or team physician indicating the treatment needed and any parameters. If your team has any special needs, please do not hesitate to call and we will do our best to accommodate you. Modalities are not available at the Ice Hockey Rink or Tennis Club. Please make arrangements to receive these treatments at Chatham if your team should need them.
We ask that you bring your own taping supplies, water bottles and towels. These items will not be provided.
The following will be provided on the sideline:
- At least one large cooler with ice and water
- Injury Ice and bags
- Cups
- Vacuum splints and emergency equipment will be available on the "home" side
A certified athletic trainer will be in attendance at all home in-season contests, including home Ice Hockey games and Tennis matches. The same sideline items will be provided for those contests as well. We look forward to seeing you.
