Biography
Karen Williams received her BS in Speech Pathology from the University of Connecticut and an MS in Deaf Education from Southern Connecticut State University. She taught in programs for the deaf in Connecticut and in Malawi Africa where she was in the Peace Corps and also taught secondary school English as a second language. Karen has a certificate in writing for children from the Institute of Children's Literature. She has also taught in that program. She has published thirteen books for children and young adults and teaches in the MFA creative writing program at Chatham University and in the MF program in writing genre fiction at Seton Hill College. Her books have been reviewed in the New York Times Book Review and have won a number of awards. She has lived in Haiti and Africa and has traveled extensively in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.
