Biography

Amy Catanzano (MFA, Iowa Writers' Workshop) is the author of Multiversal (Fordham University Press, 2009), the recipient of the PEN USA Literary Award in Poetry and selected by Michael Palmer for Fordham’s POL Prize; iEpiphany (Erudite Fangs Editions, 2008); and an e-chapbook, the heartbeat is a fractal (Ahadada Books, 2009). Her novella, Starlight in Two Million: A Neo-Scientific Novella, received the Noemi Press Book Award for Fiction and will be published in 2013. Her poetry, fiction, and cross-genre work has appeared in literary journals such as Aufgabe, Action Yes, Colorado Review, Conjunctions, Web Conjunctions, Denver Quarterly, Fence, Interim, New American Writing, Tarpaulin Sky Journal, and Volt. Recent critical and creative work on the intersections of literature and science appears in Jacket2, Give A Fig, Critiphoria, and Poems and Poetics. Her poetry has been anthologized in A Best of Fence magazine and elsewhere. Prior to teaching at Chatham, Amy taught in the year-round BA and MFA programs at Naropa University in the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics in Boulder, Colorado, where she also served as the administrative director of the Department of Writing and Poetics and managing editor of Bombay Gin. She will be teaching in Naropa's Summer Writing Program in 2013.
