The Three Rivers University for the Environment, (3RUCE), is an academic partnership among four renowned institutions for higher learning in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania region to advance environmental education, research, and technological development, thus providing global solutions for the environment. The partner schools are Carnegie Mellon University, Chatham College, Duquesne University, and the University of Pittsburgh.
The overall mission of the 3RUCE is to advance environmental education, research and technology development through collaboration among its academic partners, thus providing global solutions for the environment. The Consortium thus creates a significant urban center for environmental studies.
