Session 1: Thursday, March 12

"Business Growth Strategies – Evaluating Opportunities"

This workshop will focus on reasons behind the need for growth, what to look for in determining and recognizing growth opportunities, and how to evaluate growth opportunities against organizational and financial criteria. Rebecca Harris, Director for Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship, will be the guest business expert.

Session 2: Thursday, March 26

"Driving Sales – Follow the $$"

This workshop will include an analysis of increasing sales by directing new products into new or existing markets, and ways to increase volume via new markets and/or increasing market share. Pricing considerations and techniques for increasing viable sales leads, as well as ways of increasing lead conversion, will be discussed.

Session 3: Thursday, April 9

"Marketing for Growth"

This workshop begins with an assessment of your current market in terms of size, share, segmentation, and competitive position. Marketing, advertising, branding, differentiation, and social media/web presence are all discussed in support of the growth strategy.

Rachel Chung, Ph.D. Director of Business Programs at Chatham University, will be the guest business expert. Rachel will discuss "Growing your Business with Digital Marketing": online market research, lead generation, segmentation, promotion, and advertising through SEO for organic search, website optimization, paid search/display ads, A/B testing, and customer insight analytics.

Session 4: Thursday, April 16

"Finances Critical to the Business"

This workshop will focus on the three areas of knowing your numbers, pricing strategies, and raising funds. Financial statements, along with their interrelationship, cash management, and financial ratios will be discussed. Value-based pricing and the capital structure of your business will be explored. Marilyn D. Landis, President & CEO Basic Business Concepts, Inc, will be the guest business expert.

Session 5: Thursday, April 30

"Leadership and Building a Strong Team"

This workshop completes the MyBusiness Growth Program series by clarifying the roles of leaders and managers within a business. The relationship between vision, mission, and goals is presented and leadership skills and behavior are discussed. Peter Drucker has said that "Organizations exist to make people’s strengths effective and their weaknesses irrelevant." Accountability, clarity, autonomy, and follow-through are presented as building blocks to the development of a strong workforce.
