2012 Parent Testimonials
I was referred to the Chatham summer program by friends and colleagues whose children have attended the program. My 6 year old daughter attended the 3 week program for the first time last year. She absolutely loved the program and is eagerly looking forward to attending the 6 week program next year. My daughter really enjoyed the wide variety of activities – particularly swimming, American Sign Language, and theater/singing/music. The campus is absolutely beautiful. The counselors were friendly and reliable, and the aftercare program was very convenient. Overall, the program was very well–organized and provided a wide-range of fun and enriching activities for my daughter. I recommend the program highly.
Our children attended the Chatham Art & Music Camp for the first time last summer, and our experience was so overwhelmingly positive! Our five year old son and seven year old daughter had just been through a very rough few months as we were dealing with an illness in the family. Stress and emotions were running high and we ended the school year with nothing but stress. By the end of the first week, it was like we had different children. They felt cared for, accepted, were making friends, learning and having fun! They were excited every day to get up and attend. I literally cried at the end of the first week to see them happy again. I have not found a more thoughtful, caring and organized staff anywhere. We will be the first to sign up for the coming year!
My daughter has been attending camp for the past two years. She absolutely loves it! She loves the staff, meeting new friends, and all of the classes–– especially music, dance and sign language. She looks forward to attending each year.
This was Drew’s first year attending the Chatham University’s Music and Arts Day Camp. Since he is very sports–oriented, I wanted him to get involved in other activities. He absolutely loved camp and cannot wait until next summer to go again! His favorite activity was being able to play the different instruments; so much so that he now wants to play the trumpet. He would have never gotten that musical exposure if he had not attended the Music and Arts Day Camp. Since we live 30 minutes from Chatham, he was also nervous about not knowing any of the children at camp. The director and staff of the camp immediately made him feel welcome and comfortable, and he met a lot of new friends. I highly recommend Chatham University’s Music and Arts Day Camp; it is well–organized, well–directed, educational, and enjoyable for the children.
Our boys (ages 7 and 4) absolutely LOVED Chatham Camp! The nurturing yet encouraging environment made them both feel safe and self-confident. The staff are wonderful– they know their craft and they're great with kids! And we liked that they are such good role models. The activities are fun, the food is great (they tell me!) and the sense of pride and accomplishment that is instilled in all the campers… Let us just say this, they come home excited every day… and they sleep really well! We couldn't be happier!
