Interior Architecture Curriculum
The curriculum consists of 72 credits and includes foundation courses in the arts, interior architecture courses, an internship, and a graduate tutorial. Interior architecture courses are structured around a studio course sequence that begins with 2-D/3-D Design followed by four interior architecture studios. Each interior architecture studio consists of one or two projects focusing on a range of building types and users. Both conceptual and real problems that address new construction, adaptive reuse, and community needs are included. The studio sequence culminates with a tutorial that stresses evidence-based design. Supporting lecture and seminar courses are intended to build skills and knowledge related to graphic communication, history and theory, building technology, and business.
A suggested curriculum plan for those interested in the Interior Architecture program follows.
