Interior Architecture (MSIA) Curriculum
The curriculum consists of 30 credits for students with a first professional degree in interior design and 42 credits for students with a NAAB accredited degree in architecture. Degree requirements include graduate research methods, statistics, writing, supervised teaching, a special topics seminar, electives that support a thesis topic, and a thesis. The thesis can include original research, an in-depth design project supported by programming or a post occupancy evaluation study or an in-depth design project supported by an extensive literature review. Studio coursework and a color and textiles course are also required for students with an accredited degree in architecture.

* Special topics seminars very each year. In the past, they have addressed historic preservation and grant writing. Supervised teaching provides students with the opportunity to shadow an instructor. Students assist with lecture preparation, grading, critiques, assignments and may deliver a lecture to a class.
