ASID Student Charette Competition: Chatham Students Lauren Musulin and Joy Huntington are on the Winning Teams

Pittsburgh, PA - Interior design students from several colleges and universities in the region, including the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Chatham College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Mercyhurst College, participated in a student project competition on Saturday, September 16, 2006. The competition, sponsored by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Pennsylvania West chapter, was held in the Art and Design Center at Chatham College. Sponsors for the event included Dan Binford & Associates, Bennett Supply, KMA & Associates, GF Office Furniture, and Eisaman Contract Associates.
Beginning at 9am, student teams, consisting of representatives from the different programs, worked until 4pm on a design problem. Teams were asked to develop a concept, logo, and design solution for a casino in Pittsburgh. Submissions were then evaluated by several practitioners in the area. Winners were announced at the ASID Career Day event held on September 21, 2006 and received cash prizes. Winning teams included Chatham students Lauren Musilin (1st place) and Joy Huntington (2nd place).
