Alumnae
One of the advantages of a small college is the network of alumnae who are willing to help students and recent graduates find internships and jobs. Susan Black Elwell ’62, the 2005 recipient of the William Trimble Beatty Award, is an excellent example of the dedication of a Chatham alumna to her sister alumnae. She organized the ChathamWash Alumnae Club, and networks recent Chatham graduates to help them find work.
Chatham graduates with majors in the Division of Global and Public Policy Studies have found careers in diverse areas. Through the Career Services Office on campus and the broad network of Chatham alumnae across the U.S. (and the world), Chatham graduates will find assistance in continuing their education and in discovering careers. The following list are some careers of Chatham alumnae:
- Lawyer
- Judge
- Editor of magazine
- Foreign Service Office
- Banker
- Archivist
- Peace Corps Worker
- Secondary Teacher in Social Studies and Modern Languages
- Elementary Teacher
- Professor in Higher Education
- F.B.I. and C.I.A.
- Campaign Manager
