Tweleve Month PT Faculty Position Available
The Physical Therapy Program at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania invites applications for a 12-month faculty position. Qualified applicants will have a post-professional doctoral degree or be in the candidacy phase of their degree program (exceptional candidates with a DPT and ABPTS clinical specialization may be considered), a minimum of three years of clinical experience, a documented record of scholarly activity, eligibility for PA licensure, and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Cardiovascular
- Pulmonary
- Geriatrics
- Professional Issues
Our accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program was started in 2003 and built on the foundation of our successful Master of Physical Therapy program established in 1994. The faculty culture is one of collegiality in which collaborative research, clinical practice, and innovation and excellence in teaching are valued. The competency-based curriculum has a modified problem-based learning format that emphasizes the evaluation and integration of research literature; student-directed learning, critical thinking and decision making, hands-on skill, continued personal and professional development through a commitment to life-long learning, and service to the physical therapy profession and to others through involvement in the local and national community. Chatham University also offers a transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program that has graduated more than 160 students and is recognized for its excellence.
Chatham University is located in Pittsburgh, PA on 32 park-like acres in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh and is expanding to a include a new Eastside Campus where the program will have newly renovated space by the fall of 2009.
