The Division of Health Sciences is composed of graduate programs in Health Sciences. Each Program within the Division is unique and offers the student a strong academic basis for development of a successful professional career.

Healthcare Programs
The Healthcare programs include graduate study in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies.

The Occupational Therapy Program is designed to educate and train practitioners for professional work in a variety of healthcare settings. Occupational therapists help people improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments, working with individuals who have conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally or emotionally disabling. Occupational therapists help clients resolve impairments and develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills. Their goal is to help restore their client’s independence through direct intervention and education.

The Physical Therapy Program offers education to develop leaders in their careers and serve society. The Doctor of Physical Therapy degree is a seven term course of study to prepare graduates to serve as generalists in the field, stressing clinical decision making through the study of real life clinical problems. The Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree provides advanced training to practicing Physical Therapists in clinical specialties.

The Physician Assistant Studies Program prepares competent healthcare practitioners to provide quality primary care and to serve communities through active involvement in service-oriented programs for underserved populations. Students learn through the exploration of real life clinical cases via “Problem-based Learning”. Graduates of the Program are prepared to practice in a variety of primary care, specialty, and sub-specialty areas.
