Chatham University Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry is dedicated to its goal of preparing women for a career in Chemistry or for continuing education at a graduate school. The department offers a wide selection of courses leading to B.S. and B.A. degrees in Chemistry, as well as courses supported Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering degrees. Our B.S. chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society, allowing graduates to be certified by the ACS. Students majoring in our programs also constitute the majority of the membership of Chatham's Chemistry Society, a Student Affiliate Chapter of the ACS.

Approved by the American Chemical Society, the curriculum includes intensive preparation for graduate study and careers in the chemical industry or governmental laboratories. Secondary education certification in chemistry is also available.
