Professional Communication Curriculum

Students also must complete the General Education requirements. In addition to required course work, students must complete an internship and a tutorial presenting the results of an extensive print, broadcast, public relations, or news media project.

In addition to the core courses listed above, students must complete the requirements for one of the following concentrations.

Students taking a minor in Professional Communications are not required to take the core courses for the degree. They are only required to take the courses listed below.

Professional Writing Minor
Designed for students who wish to develop their writing skills to a professional level. Completion of this program prepares students for the changing requirements of the workplace in a variety of fields, including education, science, the web, advertising and public relations, grant writing, technical writing, political communication, and speech writing.
