MFA Talk: Jesmyn Ward

Jesmyn Ward has written two novels and a memoir titled Men We Reaped. Her novel Salvage the Bones won the 2011 National Book Award for Fiction. Her fiction imagines the stories of poor black siblings growing up on the Gulf Coast, and her memoir explores the lives of her brother and four other young black men who lost their lives in her hometown.
