Public Tour of Eden Hall

Come hear about Chatham's Eden Hall Campus master plan and take a tour to see how the campus is being built as a sustainable community from below the ground, up. Tour highlights include: the property's rich history as a Heinz retreat center; high performance buildings; geothermal systems; photovoltaic and solar thermal systems; an aquaculture lab; sustainable agriculture indoor growing facilities; outdoor organic gardens; woodland hiking trails and more.

Registration is open to all. Please dress to be outside in any weather and wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy.

Tours given by Kelly Henderson, Sustainability Education Coordinator for the Falk School of Sustainability, and are held on the second Wednesday of each month.

Directions

Eden Hall Campus is located at: 6035 Ridge Road Richland Township, PA 15044-9746. From Chatham University Shadyside Campus: Turn right on Fifth Avenue from Woodland Road. Fifth Avenue becomes becomes PA-8/ Blue Belt. Follow PA-8/Blue Belt/Washington Road to Allegheny River Boulevard. Turn left toward Highland Park Bridge. Exit Highland Park Bridge to Route 28S. Exit at Route 8. Follow Route 8 North to Butler (~14 miles). Take a right at the Bakerstown Road/Red Belt Exit adjacent to Bakerstown Feed & Garden Center (Heckert Road). At first stop sign, turn left onto the Red Belt/Bakerstown Road. Turn right onto Ridge Road. Eden Hall Campus is ½ mile ahead on your left past Eden Hall Elementary School.
