Jolly Okot is an activist leader from Northern Uganda. At the age of 20, she was kidnapped by rebels serving under Joseph Kony, an African warlord. When she managed to escape, she dedicated her life to working with communities affected by rebel violence. In 2003, she founded HEAL, an organization providing dance therapy to children who have been affected by the conflict. She works very closely with Invisible Children, Inc and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 for her contributions.
