Donor Societies

Chatham has recognized our most generous donors by inviting them to become members of University-wide giving societies. These organizations were created to honor the important role that our supporters play in Chatham's success and to inspire new levels of philanthropy.

The 1869 Society

The 1869 Society of Chatham University recognizes those donors making unrestricted leadership gifts of $1,000 or more to the University's Annual Fund.

The society is comprised of the following levels:

University Society $50,000 or more
Founders' Society $25,000-$49,999
President’s Society $15,000-$24,999
Chatham Society $10,000-$14,999
PCW Society $5,000-$9,999
Woodland Circle $2,500-$4,999
1869 Circle $1,869-$2,499
Cornerstone Circle $1,000-$1,868

The Beatty Council

Named in honor of Reverend William Trimble Beatty, one of Chatham's founders and the first secretary to the Board of Trustees, The Beatty Council recognizes donors who contribute between $500 and $999 to the unrestricted Annual Fund.

The Purple Ribbon Society

The Purple Ribbon Society was created in 2002 to recognize leading alumni donors who have graduated within the last decade. These graduates from the past decade have made unrestricted gifts of $100 or more to the Annual Fund. Their generosity to Chatham is greatly appreciated.
