Mike Sherwin is currently Senior Manager, Quality Assurance – Supplier Quality Excellence at Curtiss Wright in Cheswick, PA where he is responsible for implementing risk-based preventive measures and processes within the commercial nuclear and defense industry supply bases. Previously, he has held positions in operational excellence, plant management, project management, quality management, regulatory affairs, and process engineering at the Director, Manager, and technical contributor levels of Fortune 500 and start-up organizations serving the biotechnology, aerospace, defense, energy, plastics, adhesives, electronics, tooling, and high purity metal powder industries. In addition to being a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Chatham University, he as taught at Duquesne University and Robert Morris University. Mike holds a BS in Materials Science and Engineering (Penn State University), MBA (Carnegie Mellon), MS in Industrial Engineering (Penn State University), and a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering (Mississippi State University) where his research focused on reliability analytics and risk mitigation in supply chains. In addition to being a Licensed Professional Engineer and ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, he is a member of INFORMS, IIE, and previously served on Penn State University's Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Society's Advisory Board.
