Nimi Finnigan

Class of 2007

After earning her MFA from Chatham, Nimi decided to pursue a PhD in Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Her forthcoming dissertation is a collection of personal essays on life in her rural village in the south of Haiti. In addition to her studies, Nimi has also enjoyed the opportunity not only to teach, but to design her own introductory Literature and Creative Writing courses each semester.

Nimi is an associate editor for Iron Horse Literary Review, and her work has appeared in The Meadowland Review, Journal of Caribbean Literature, and Rosebud, among others. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t think of Chatham and the people and professors she left behind. Her days on Chatham’s campus went beyond being formative years; they were unforgettable.
