Biography

Lori Jakiela is the author of a memoir, Miss New York Has Everything (Hatchette 2006); a poetry collection, Spot the Terrorist! (Turning Point, 2012); and three poetry chapbooks. Her essays have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, Creative Nonfiction/Brevity, River Teeth, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette and elsewhere. Her second memoir, The Bridge to Take When Things Get Serious, will be published in December 2012 by C&R Press. She is a speaker for the PA Humanities Council, a past recipient of the Golden Quill Award, and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
