Biography

I have published two collections of flash fiction, a novel, and am at work on a book of narrative nonfiction about place and displacement in modern Pittsburgh. In writing both long and micro forms I have become obsessed with compression, the sentence, and place in writing. Recently, I've been writing about and creating exercises that address and work to improve creative thought away from the page. I frequently teach writing workshops in nontraditional settings like galleries and museums and have a keen interest in food and popular culture, which is reflected in almost all of my work.
