POSTED : 02/19/13 - JOB OPEN : 02/19/13 Surgical Oncology - Morgantown, WV JOB DESCRIPTION Surgical Assistant (NP) –Provide outpatient and inpatient services, including medical histories and physical examinations. Monitor patients' pre- and post-operative progress, and assist the surgeon in the Operating Room, such as biopsies, patient preparations and wound closure. Perform routine post-op services for patients. Manage general complaints and problems under the supervising surgeon and handle the diagnostic work-up and plan with guidance from the surgeon. Provide routine ward care, dressing care, wound management, pre- and post-operative assessment/management that includes diagnostic tests and consult for further evaluation. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program; NCCPA Certified and able to obtain PA licensure in the state of West Virginia. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine. Prescriptive authority preferred. A great opportunity for a new grad! Salary: $84,700 + Benefits: Excellent benefits !
