Undergrad Literary Magazine, The Minor Bird, Holds Launch Party on Sat, Apr 11

PITTSBURGH:  Chatham University’s undergraduate literary magazine The Minor Bird will be hosting its annual Launch Party this Saturday, April 11th, at 7:00 pm in the Welker Room, Laughlin Music Center, on the Shadyside Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The launch will feature readings from guest speaker D. Gilson, along with numerous Chatham students that have published original work in either the Fall 2014 or Spring 2015 edition of The Minor Bird. Student artwork from both editions of The Minor Bird will also be on display at the event.

Gilson is a graduate of the Chatham University MFA program, and is a PhD student in American Literature & Culture at The George Washington University. He has published two chapbooks, Catch & Release and Brit Lit, and his poetry has appeared in The Los Angeles Review, PANK, Assaracus, The Indiana Review, and elsewhere. Most recently, D. Gilson published Crush, a collection of poetry and essays, with Will Stockton.

The Minor Bird is a student-run literary magazine publishing the original poetry, prose, and artwork of Chatham students. Student readers at the event will include Indigo Baloch, Jess Turner, Rachael Owen, Jessica Keller, Rachel Geraci, Katie Kiers, and Liz Tenney.
