PITTSBURGH: Chatham University has added a completely online 18-month Master of Healthcare Informatics (MHI) program, with applications now being accepted for the fall 2016 semester.
Healthcare informatics is the harnessing of technology and application of data to make the best clinical or organizational decisions possible. According to Department of Labor statistics, it is one of the fastest growing areas of the healthcare sector with job growth, depending on the specific Health IT position, estimated to be between 15-37% from 2012-2022.
PITTSBURGH: Dr. Stephan Liozu of the Business & Entrepreneurship Department at Chatham University has recently published a new book, Pricing and Human Capital: A Guide to Developing a Pricing Career, Managing Pricing Teams, and Developing Pricing Skills. The book discusses the nature of pricing and managing pricing teams for professionals in marketing, finance, sales and information technology.
PITTSBURGH: Chatham University’s Master of Accounting program was recently selected as a “25 Great Small Colleges for Master’s in Accounting” by editors of a Master of Accounting Program blog. Rankings were determined using factors including student enrollment, acceptance rate, student-faculty ratio and more. Chatham University was ranked #3 out of the Top 25 schools.

PITTSBURGH: The Board of Commissioners of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) announced at its meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on April 12-14, 2015, that Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was granted first-time accreditation of the business and management programs offered through its College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
The business programs that were accredited by the IACBE include: Master of Accounting, Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Bachelor of Arts in International Business, Bachelor of Arts in Management, and Bachelor of Arts in Marketing.
PITTSBURGH: Chatham University is pleased to welcome Stephan Liozu, Ph.D. to the Shadyside campus as Assistant Professor of Management and Strategy in the Business and Entrepreneurship Department.
Dr. Liozu will teach the Strategy & Entrepreneurship course (among others). The course provides an understanding of the entrepreneurial process and overall concepts concerning strategy development and implementation.
“Entrepreneurs need to understand key concepts to design and execute their dreams into tangible businesses.” Through this course, students will accomplish this by integrating their entrepreneurial perspective with concepts in management, finance, law, and marketing to develop an overall strategic outlook,” states Dr. Liozu.

Dr. Liozu has over 20 years of global business experience, working for both Fortune 500 companies and family-owned businesses. Most recently he served as President & CEO at ARDEX Americas and was voted 2012 CEO of the year for mid-sized companies in the Pittsburgh area and was widely recognized as a community leader sitting on boards of various non-for-profit organizations.
PITTSBURGH – Chatham Master of Accounting graduate student, Alexander Lake, was awarded first place in the 2014 Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Student Writing Competition. Lake’s paper was entitled The Practice of Sustainability Reporting, its Challenges, and its Value for Investors, and is an important contribution to the discussion surrounding sustainability implementation.
