The Fourth River flows for the fourth time from Chatham University
By Amanda Kennedy, Senior Public Relations Specialist
Pittsburgh, PA - (October 15, 2007) … Chatham University’s MFA in Creative Writing program will celebrate the fourth edition of its literary journal The Fourth River with a fall release party on Thursday, October 25 at 8:30 p.m. in the Chatham University Art Gallery in Woodland Hall. For more information, call 412-365-1190 or email cdiulus@chatham.edu. The Fourth River’s web address is http://fourthriver.chatham.edu/.
“Pittsburgh is situated at the confluence of three rivers: the Monongahela, Allegheny, and Ohio. A fourth underground river, unseeable but indispensable to the city’s riverine ecosystem, is one muse for our journal,” notes Sheryl St. Germain, Ph.D., MFA program director. “We are excited that the Fourth River continues to attract diverse writers from around the world and is also gaining a larger readership.”
The Fourth River presents some of the region’s most talented writers of poetry, fiction and nonfiction, joined by other emerging and renowned national and international authors. The Fourth River is Pittsburgh’s only literary journal that explores the relationship between humans and their environments.
Chatham University faculty will read at the event. This edition’s cover was created by artist Gary Gayda. The Fourth River is printed by Morris Publishing, Kearny, Nebraska.
