Black History Month: Diversity Dialogue, Lyrical Dissections with #HipHopEd

Tuesday, February 12, 2019
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Conover Room

Cost: Free

Timothy Jones, CVO of #HipHopEd and Directing Founder of Techniques4Learning will lead an engaging dialogue about creative teachable moments that Hip-Hop music and Hip-Hop videos provide to enrich equitable learning spaces. We will lyrically dissect some Hip-Hop songs to gain a better understanding of the plight and despair within many of our communities as related to social injustices. We will also explore listening approaches to process a balance between language meaning and message interpretation. Lunch will be served!
