"One Big Table": How Food Stories Bear Witness to Daily Life and Create a Bridge between Culture and Agriculture"
Former New York Times writer and acclaimed author, Molly O'Neill, will be at Chatham for a book signing and talk on Monday, April 2nd.
Molly has been traveling the United States gathering food stories and recipes in an ongoing effort to identify, collect, celebrate and preserve the country's food history. She has interviewed nearly 10,000 people. In this talk, she discusses the history of American food writing, its shifting role (and expanding opportunities) and discusses the use of oral history in food writing, as well as the effect of immigration on the landscape and the American table.
