Bike Works

Chatham Bike Works, opened April 2010, is a free work–space available to all Chatham biking community members. Bike Works offers shop hours and monthly "hands on" workshops. Every month there will be a workshop focusing on the many parts of bicycling: basic maintenance skills, on–the–road repairs and how to ride safely, etc.

Campus Bike Racks
We are planning to add more bike racks to every residence hall on campus, as well as, upright wall racks for indoor parking in residence halls and other buildings, including some outside walls.

All Biking members are welcome to use Chatham showering facilities that are located on both Woodland campus at the AFC Fitness Center and the Eastside Side campus. There are lockers provided in both places and open for student use.

Attention all Bikers:
Do not lock bikes to a railing where it will be impeding others, it will get removed.

Abandoned bikes will get a notice for removal and have to be reclaimed from Student Affairs. Bikes not reclaimed will be donated and used by Bike Works as educational tools, and for our bike–share program.

Registered bicycle commuters can get a federal tax credit for biking to school.

Fall 2011 Workshops & Other Bike Activities:
Workshops: will be given on the first Friday of every month in the shop from 2pm to 5pm, and will cover topics such as choosing the right bike, on–the–road maintenance, and riding safely.

Critical Mass ride:
The last Friday of the month, encourages anyone with a bike to join the, a slow–paced group ride that meets in Oakland at 5pm and explores the city on bike.
