Chatham University breaks ground on next-generation sustainable campus Food, Farm and Field Program

Welcome to the virtual home of the School of Sustainability and the Environment (SSE) at Chatham University. Founded in 2010 after the tremendous gift of the 388-acre Eden Hall Campus from the Eden Hall Foundation, SSE provides sustainable alternatives to today’s regional, national and global social, economic, and environmental concerns.

The SSE is now admitting students to two graduate programs, Master of Arts in Food Studies and Master of Sustainability, and a joined undergraduate & graduate summer residential course, Food, Farm & Field. These programs serve the school's mission: to promote, through education, research, and outreach, a transdisciplinary, systems–based approach to simultaneously improve economic, social, and environmental well–being.

All of our students, faculty, and staff engage in courses, projects, and careers that further this mission.
