Graduate Student Housing
Graduate students are a small, but vital part of our on campus residential community. Approximately 37 graduate and Gateway student apartments are available for full-time degree seeking students
Graduate and Gateway Student Housing
For 2008-09, Chatham will provide three on-campus housing options for full-time graduate and Gateway students. We maintain an interest list up to a year in advance. Once your name is on an interest list, you will be sent a lease via email.
Tours may be available by late July or early August 2008, but due to construction we are unable to accommodate those requests in advance. Please feel free to drive by the buildings now, or contact us with a few days notice if you are interested in trying to see an apartment.
Please note that housing is granted on a first come, first served basis. If we are full at the time of your inquiry, we can put your name on a waiting list.
Charges/Rent
Rent includes all utilities (electric, water, heat, internet and local phone) and is billed to a student's account in two billing cycles – once in the fall and again in the spring semester. Students may be able to remain in housing during the summer months (June and July) if space is available. These persons will be billed separately for these months. Before signing a lease, students are advised to consult with the Office of Financial Aid so they understand how their financial aid package will be affected by these housing costs. To put your name on the wait list, contact Residence Life at 412-365-1518 or reslife@chatham.edu.
Roommates
Two full time degree seeking students may live together in a two bedroom apartment. Both students must notify the Office of Residence Life that they wish to live together. Each student will sign a separate 10 month lease with the option for extension for June/July. Charges are still applied to each student account, but at half the rate. Requests to end leases early because of roommate disputes will not be granted. If you are looking for a roommate, but are having trouble, please see our
roommate finder.
Students with families, spouses or partners are welcome to bring them to campus and into housing. The two bedroom apartments are particularly family friendly; with large common areas and full size kitchen facilities. Students with partners and/or children should indicate this when they sign a lease, to ensure the proper number of keys are issued.
