Indicators Used
INDICATOR |
DESCRIPTION AND HOW IT WAS CALCULATED |
One Year Attrition and Retention Rates |
Formula: the 2nd year enrolled/not enrolled divided by the total cohort number=retention rate/attrition rate. For example, in Fall 2019 there were 6 full-time new freshmen in BA Accounting. In Fall 2020, 3 of them returned. Therefore, retention rate is 3/6=50%, Attrition rate is 3/6 = 50%. |
Full-Time New Freshman Cohort Graduation Rate |
Formula: total number of graduates divided by the total cohort number=graduation rate. For example, there were 9 full-time new freshmen in BA Management in Fall 2015. Four of them graduated from Chatham. Thus, the graduation rate for this group student is 4/9 = 44%. |
Master-Degree New Student Cohort Graduation Rate |
Formula: total number of graduates in Master degree program divided by the total cohort number = Master degree graduation rate. |
*For Online Majors: BA Business Administration and BA Healthcare and Business Management |
|
One Year Retention Rate |
Formula: The retention rate is calculated without the graduated students included. For example, in the HCBM program, there were 3 students who took classes under that program version in the 2019-2020 academic year. One of them graduated before Fall 2020 and the remaining 2 returned within the year (3-1=2, 2/2=100%). |
