Health Information

Health Records

Students at Chatham University are required to submit immunization, health and meningitis forms. The university has required immunizations. It can be expensive to get these immunizations in the U.S. We recommend that you receive all your immunizations before coming to the U.S. If you have questions about these forms and the required immunizations, please contact the Health Services Office at

Health Insurance

The U.S. does not have national health care. Medical care in the U.S. can be very expensive. A visit to the doctor can cost $100 or more. To help with the high cost of health care, people purchase a health insurance plan.

The University requires that all full-time students carry health insurance coverage. Coverage can be purchased through the University sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan or through your own comparable health insurance plan. The University sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan is designed to meet basic health care needs at an affordable cost. The open enrollment/waiver period takes place at the start of each academic year and closes with the add/drop deadline. Full time students are required to provide proof of alternate insurance by the close of add/drop if they choose not to purchase this plan. Please contact the Student Accounts Office at for more information.

The university insurance policy is through UPMC Health Plan. The per semester cost is 775 USD.
