As a former classroom teacher and elementary gifted coordinator in the Woodland Hills School District, Donna came to Chatham in September of 1998 when she served as a member of the advisory committee for the creation of a Center of Excellence at Chatham College in Technology-based Teaching and Learning as was funded by the Eden Hall Foundation. It was shortly after this time that she collaborated in the design and implementation of a funded proposal awarded by the Center of Excellence in Education for the purpose of promoting a partnership between elementary gifted students in a public school and Chatham MAT students, as they developed a written history of Rankin, PA. Shortly after that, she was invited to collaborate in the design and delivery of coursework set forth in a Jacob Javits Project between the Pittsburgh Public Schools and Chatham College. Upon her retirement from Woodland Hills School District in 2004, she joined the faculty at Chatham, first as an instructor, then later as an adjunct, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in technology, elementary and gifted education and supervising student teachers.
