Heath C. Johnson, Ph.D., MSW, heads the Crime Analysis Unit of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. His background is in the social sciences with interests in behavioral science, data-driven policing, and the intersections of social work and the criminal justice system. He received his BA from Duquesne University, and both his MSW & PhD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. Dr. Johnson has worked as an early intervention therapist for children on the Autism spectrum, a researcher of youth in residential treatment facilities, a crime analyst, and a legislative aide to a Pennsylvania congressman. He enjoys cycling, hiking, and yoga in his spare time. He lives with his partner and daughter in Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington neighborhood.
