About Chatham University

Academics & Mission

Chatham is the alma mater of environmental icon Rachel Carson ’29, and is recognized today as an international leader in the field of sustainability. In recent years, Chatham has earned a top 5 ranking in the world for sustainability by the Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment and Rating SystemTM (STARS®); been selected to The Princeton Review Green Honor Roll; and mentioned as one of the most sustainable universities in the United States by USA Today, Forbes and other national media. Career Preparation

We focus on preparing students with a mix of professional training and liberal arts skill building for success in life and in the fields driving tomorrow's economy. The Chatham Plan is a 5-step approach to infusing the entirety of the undergraduate education with all the things students need to launch their career after graduation. With support by both an academic and career advisor throughout, the Chatham Plan guides students to building lives of purpose and fulfilling work, and preparing students for what employers say they want from college graduates.
