It's a beautiful, beneficial experience to read a book by a distinguished, brilliant writer. However, it's an irreplaceable, invaluable experience to read that book, then sit in a room with that writer, listen and learn from that writer and do so in an environment where that same writer knows your name, your work and, equally, listens to you.
–Cody Leutgens, alum
This intensive setting is a gift, something I wish I could do every summer.
–Lori Barrett, alum
The ten-day intensive accelerated my process of self-discovery as I grew into a deeper understanding of my process and craft. I arrived to Chatham as a person who enjoyed writing, and I left a writer.
–Kimberly McElhatten, current student
