Nurse Educator Certificate

The Nurse Educator Certificate is a 12-credit online certificate that provides nurses with the basic tools necessary to teach nursing and/or nurses in an academic or clinical setting. The Certificate can be completed in two semesters. For those students who wish to apply their teaching knowledge and skills under the supervision of an educator preceptor, there is an additional 3-credit practicum. The completing of the nurse educator certificate indicates you have successfully passed the coursework and earned the associated credits. Completion of the certificate does not result in certification as a nurse educator.

Something to Consider

National nursing organizations, such as the National League of Nursing and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, have gone on record stating that nurses planning a career in education should enroll in programs that provide discipline-specific pedagogy.
