Visiting Campus

This page contains COVID-19 information and policies for campus visitors this academic term.

Campus Visitors Policy

Whether taking a tour or meeting someone on campus, we take the health and safety of our visitors very seriously, and we ask that all visitors adhere to these protocols and requirements.

  1. We strongly encourage, but do not require, all visitors to campus to be vaccinated
  2. If feeling sick, please stay home
  3. All visitors must comply with campus health & safety protocols in place
  4. All visitors must have a University-sponsored host and a record of the visit (through online registration or sign-in) with the host or University for contact tracing purposes*
  5. The University may change these visitor policies to require proof of negative test (or vaccine) or suspend campus visits at any time if health guidance or case trends change

*This does not currently apply to athletic events, but may be subject to change.

Additional visitor policies may be implemented for athletic events, visiting residence halls and overnight campus admission visits. If applicable, the details of these additional policies are outlined below.

Residential Guest Policies

Resident students are permitted to have guests visit from on- and off-campus. A residence hall and apartment guest is any person who is not a resident of that hall, house, or apartment. Chatham students who do not live in a residence hall or apartment they are visiting are considered guests of that residence hall or apartment.

Visitation hours are as follows:

  • Sunday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight
  • Friday and Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Guests in the building past midnight Sunday through Thursday and past 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday are considered overnight guests. The residential guest policy is subject to change and further information about it can be found on myChatham. Any student who has a question should speak with their RA, CA, GRD, or contact the Office of Residence Life at reslife@chatham.edu
