Women Business Leaders Breakfast Series for April

April 9, 2010
7:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Welker Room in the James Laughlin Music Hall at Chatham University

Speaker: Magdeline Jensen, CEO, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh Topic “Innovative Entrepreneurship for a Nonprofit” As in many other sectors, the economic downturn beginning in September 2008 impacted social service non-profit corporations significantly. Virtually all of the traditional funding sources were diminished; foundation funding, governmental contracts, event fundraising efforts and donations. In addition to seeking funds from traditional sources, the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh is examining the development of new, alternative income streams. Its largest endeavor is entrepreneurial – the opening a Nathan’s Famous food franchise in a portion of its building storefront downtown. The anticipated Grand Opening is mid-2010. Networking and a continental breakfast will precede the presentation.
