5th Annual Think Big Forum

Think Big, an annual forum held at Chatham University’s Shadyside Campus, addresses issues of importance to women business owners and women in business. The Fifth Annual Think Big Forum, "Sales and Innovation- Keys to Competitive Success and Growth,” will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010. In this economy, companies are seeking greater business stability, growth, and advancement, and at the Think Big Forum, regional women business executives and entrepreneurs will discuss strategies that have enabled their companies to remain competitive in the marketplace.

Think Big Forum Event Information
The format for this year’s Think Big Forum features a networking breakfast, keynote speaker, and two panel discussions. The first event of the day will be a networking breakfast, immediately followed by a presentation on “Innovation & Sales” by keynote speaker Beth Kaplan, President and Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer of GNC Inc.

Following the keynote speaker will be the first panel discussion on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” with panelists Amy Hancock, President and Owner of AdvantageCare Rehabilitation, Advantage Home Health Services, and AdvantageCare Consulting and Danielle Proctor, President and CEO of Amelie Construction & Supply LLC. This panel will discuss specific strategies that these women used to grow their companies from ideas to multi-million dollar ventures and will be moderated by Nancy Polinsky Johnson, Publisher and Editor of SHADY AVE magazine.

The second panel discussion will address “Innovation & Media” and features panelists Diana Block, Board of Directors, Former President/Co-Publisher of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and Deborah L. Acklin, newly appointed President-elect and CEO of WQED Pittsburgh. This dynamic panel will address innovative strategies required by the media industry to maintain their competitiveness. This panel will be moderated by Lauren Lawley Head, Editor of the Pittsburgh Business Times.
