Dr. Richard Alley is the Evan Pugh Professor of Geosciences for the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State University, and the author of Earth: The Operators' Manual (2011, W.W.Norton & Co.). Dr. Alley also hosted the PBS special Earth: The Operators' Manual, which took him across the United States, and to China, Brazil, Morocco, Spain, and New Zealand in search of developments in sustainable energy.
Dr. Alley's talk, "Optimistic Opportunities in the Greenhouse: Energy, Environment, Ethics, and Our Future," will be followed by a book signing.
