Description: The utilization of Quality Matters Standards in the design of an online course is considered a best practice, and it ensures that the content of the course, the utilization of technology, alignment of objectives/aims/goals, and that compliance with basic standards are present. One of the most important elements in online courses is the pedagogical principles and standards employed by the faculty in the online medium. This workshop intends to present instructors a review of the best practices utilized by experienced online instructors that optimize the student experience. Please note that the best predictor of student satisfaction in the online medium is the level of presence and engagement with the students by the faculty.
